Please submit a typed essay of no more than 500 words. This essay should be in your own words. All paraphrases or quotes must be cited. Choose from one of the following prompts:

Describe a news story or event that had an impact on your life and discuss why.
Discuss two key figures who have influenced or inspired you in your life, such as leaders, creators, writers, or artists.
A mariner is defined as “a person who navigates or assists in navigating a ship” (Merriam-Webster). Describe your leadership skills. How have you navigated or assisted with leading a group or initiative?

Please add any other information below that you think might assist the Honors Committee in evaluating your application, such as specific courses you have taken that demonstrate academic rigor (e.g. Honors, Advanced Placement, Dual-Enrollment), or other academic projects that demonstrate your intellectual curiosity and potential.

Incoming First-Year Students: Please submit two letters of recommendations (teacher, guidance counselor, coach) using this form:

Continuing & Transfer Students: Please submit two letters of recommendations (professor, advisor, coach) using the attached form. One letter must be from a professor.

Please note: the Honors Program Application recommendations are required in addition to any materials you have submitted to the College for your admission application.
